Tweetbot is an award-winning, full-featured Twitter client for the Mac. It has a beautiful interface with light & dark themes, multiple-column support and much more.
As Tapbots mentions in their post, the relationship between Twitter and its third-party apps is tenuous, to say the least. I’m glad that the folks at Tapbots are still investing in power users and a quality experience, unlike Twitter proper. Not many Mac apps receive this kind of attention, but it’s good to see that developers still care about the platform, regardless of how precarious of a position it is in.
So far, I really like this update. I’m not a huge dark mode person on the Mac, but I appreciate other elements of the design refresh. I exclusively use Tweetbot, and I hope to see some of these changes come to the iOS app soon. As good as the iOS app is, it is a little stale and could benefit from this refresh. With the OLED screen on the iPhone X, the dark mode would be a hit on mobile.
